About 95% of BMW’s lineup really isnt worthy of that title. You picked up on my biggest beef across all their cars / M included. The controls now have no weight and even the heaviest level they can adjust to feels like garbage. They make great cars but they are no longer the “ Ultimate Driving Machine. ” There is a reason why I am looking elsewhere after experiencing 2 decades worth of their cars. It also doesn’t help that some of their service centers faceplant harder than your camera at the end. I use to be able to wholeheartedly reccomend the brand. Now? Not so much...

I fully understand your point there. I think I mentioned the lightness of the controls in the video. I am also really pissed with some of the stuff they’ve crapped out this year like the new x6, 1 series, the 2 series gran coupe as well as the swollen grilles on the g11 7 series (previously a beautiful car) and possibly the new m3/4

Yes you did, it is my biggest gripe with the current lineup. When they swapped to electric steering i t was a clear and noticeable downgrade. I had a loaner 3 series for a bit that apart from the interior, it rubbed me the wrong way . If I could cram the new power/d rive train o f the new upcoming M3 with AWD into my E92 that would be my ultimate daily. The new grilles certainly are cringeworthy. Its like an horrific april fools joke that got green lit.
Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing.

I’m with you. After years and years of BMWs I’ve moved on as newer models just don’t do anything for me, and the cost of maintaining my old ones just wasn’t worth it any longer. Newer ones without warranties scare the hell out of me, especially since they don’t really provide an experience that’s any better than “lesser” cars. And I don’t really want to be associated with the types of people that are attracted to modern BMWs since a vast majority of them are not driving enthusiasts.

U ndesirables leech into every niche, you can’t avoid it so o ther owners should never deter you from what you like or what to buy. Shitty engineering design definitely should though. After really tearing into their electrical systems and what is required for basic part replacement I can confidently say I likely won't go back to BMW again. Maybe complete electrification will change their design process but I find it unlikely. Soon my fleet will comprise solely of V8 American cars/trucks. 2/3rds of which will be pushrod motors. People can knock them all the want but at least they keep chugging along when it matters.
